Nice week Rays and good luck until next time. Giants, Brewers, Twins, Braves, and Dbacks off to a nice start - maybe we'll have some buyers/sellers soon!

I suck. It will be long season. Not if that star to be born keeps hitting 4 HRs in 4 games...

Tough start. Had a solid lead all the way to Saturday and the bats went limp.

I suck. It will be long season. Not if that star to be born keeps hitting 4 HRs in 4 games... Oh...I love my minor league. ;D And his start is.....very nice, very nice indeed. That being said, if I bring him up this year he retains minors status and next year starts his major league deal, correct? So at this point if you are planning on a player in your minor league being in your major leagues next season from the start there really isn't a down side, contract length wise (wanting to hold onto said player for as many years as possible) to promoting such a player at any point now. Right?

Right? If you bring up a player from the minors he gets the 1yr/$400K minors deal. If you keep him in the off-season Grace Period he gets the $400K/6yr majors deal. So, including the minor league year, you have him on the 40-man for 7 seasons. So, players brought up this year could be kept under contract through 2016.

Ok, thanks Clay. So if I planned on Santana being my opening day catcher in 2011 then I don't lose out on a year by promoting him this summer when he gets called up in MLB. Good. Just like BCN PRO. Also good cause I will need his services when he arrives.....lol.
