Think it is a bad battery on the laptop, but it has been having issues the past half day. I'll be having it checked out tomorrow. If it is as minor as that I will have zero down time (as I can just keep it plugged in until I get a new battery). If it is more major then I dunno.

Bad battery it is. If you are trying to decide between a Mac laptop and a Mac desktop and you won't be moving it around from place to place really, go with a desktop. Apparently all styles of Mac laptops since 2007 have been having issues with batteries that can have had a swelling (yes, I said swelling....or bloating....or bulging) problem. I got three years out of my battery and 4 days after the warranty expired I encountered an issue of immense battery drain. I discovered that Tuesday night. This morning, no bulge or swelling with my battery at all. This afternoon when I had it in at the Apple store I took the laptop out for them and wouldn't you know it, part of the battery had swelled up and had partially propped up the piece that keeps the battery in place.
They gave me a free battery since my warranty had barely just expired, which, was nice of them.....especially since this has been a long running issue with their battery line. My next purchase for sure will be a desktop....which needs no battery.
