As we sit here and get ready to watch the game, my buddies and I came up with the "Canada 2" team.... if bobsleigh has 2/3 teams per country, why not hockey?

I don't know about you guys, but I entirely believe that Canada would have won 2 medals if they had the chance to play this team as well. Probably gold and bronze.

Congrats on the win. I was getting on a plane when USA scored and had to wait until we landed to find out who won.

I'm happy for Sid the Kid. Stanley Cupand Olympic Gold in one year.

It's great for Sid. He had missed a couple of key chances in the last couple of games, but I think he was playing slightly injured. Hopefully this is another cog in the "why Sidney is better than OV" list.

Crosby has a Stanley Cup - Ov has none
Crosby won the Conn Smythe - Ov did not
Crosby was the youngest Captain of a team to ever win a Stanley Cup
Now, Crosby has a Gold Medal - Ov was embarrassingly bad at the Olympics

I give Ov kudos for filling every arena he goes into, but if I were building a team from scratch, Crosby would be first on my list. He shows up when needed, is a great team leader, and plays well on both sides of the ice.

As for this Gold - I'm most happy for Steve Yzerman, who put the team together and dealt with all of the pressure as he usually does, like a truly great leader.

4 years to the next showdown, and chances are it will be Canada vs US once again! It's beginning to become North America's game....isn't it?
