who was I supposed to pick genious? Really? Relax. Reactions and even sometimes debate are pretty typical for an offline draft like this. You got a good player. Maybe better than that. If you like the pick, who cares what anyone thinks? Agree with Clay here. You got a great player (as a Beckham owner in another league) who could become an AL version of Chase Utley since he's moving to 2B. Anyone who doubts his talent can come see me at the end of 2010 and try to say the same thing. I'd also add that when Theriot is your 2B, you want backup, and Beckham will also be 3B eligible all of 2010 (important for the Cubs with Ramirez who often gets injured) and may even end up at SS down the line. At his caliber, that's one hell of a utility player (so long as the sophomore slump skips him)

If you like the pick, who cares what anyone thinks? hey, a little feuding is good for the league. let them go at it. OK. My bad. Should I stir the pot with you just for fun? I mean, seriously, Greinke with the #3. Wow, way to ruin a good shirt. Like a man can handle seeing that while downing a beer with a mouth full of pizza.

But, Miggy will be only 26 next year. He's more than proven. Sure, not in top condition and maybe an alcoholic. But, his contract isn't A-Rod/Jeter crazy. If I needed a 1st baseman, and maybe even if not, and had solid cap room, I'd have taken him much before 14th.

Ahh....many different personalities come together, some for the first time and....fireworks! (I suppose there were at least, but I must have missed em' since they were edited...which is always good to do....in hindsight...and also in a thread where it won't get you in trouble to edit something....LOL).
Ah Mr. Gordon Beckham. An elite first round pick in the real MLB draft. Sprinted through the minors only to have very very good success in the majors in his first partial season. Has the tool set to be a great player in the league....starting....now. Throw on top of that youthful talent level that he plays all over the place seemingly at a hell of a bargain for the next 6 years and I say....yeah, heck of a good pick in the first round.
I honestly did not expect him to be there for me at pick 1.15 so I never really considered him. I figured he would go top-7, if not higher.
As far as Cabrera goes, dynasty drafts are a bit different than regular drafts. Differing ways to build franchises. Many different components in this league compared to run of the mill leagues with basic rules and re-draft leagues. So no, I am neither surprised that he went at that spot nor would have I been surprised if he went earlier or later.

I am just surprised Kendry Morales was available at pick 1.12. He was the guy I most wanted. And I almost got him. Almost....
Guy is a STUD player already and is going to be AMAZING!

Like a man can handle seeing that while downing a beer with a mouth full of pizza. o.k., no problem ... i was hoping to pick a fight w/ red sox gm (due to my loathing for the red sox) but he's so nice i can't bring myself to do it but you mr. bradbie are a different matter altogether... as for the greinke commentary, if you think he was an overdraft then i don't know what to tell you other than i wish you were in my division. ...

Greinke.....top 7 pick....no question.....I cried when I knew I would not get him. Ok, I didn't cry. But I feel he was very much a great pick.

Ha! Well the only other guy I considered with Cutch, with the steals and everything, real happy with Beckham. I get a little defensive when other owners question my team building. I am the Cubs, my teams not stocked with young talent. I need to build for the future, not win now. Gordo fits my philosophy. I watched him play the Twins alot this year too, guy has a weird shaped head but man can he play ball, I think the numbers will only get better. I considered Morales, who I think is tough, but it seems like 1B are a dime a dozen

In all honesty, there has only been one name where I was like "huh?" and a "wow" went off in my head. But, to each their own (and it also made me happy as it made it more likely players I valued more would slide to me). We need more "huh" and "wow" picks!
